2014 aluminum rod belongs to Al-Cu-MG aluminum alloy, is a kind of high strength hard aluminum, mainly used for manufacturing various high load parts. This is a high strength duralumin which can be strengthened by heat treatment. It has medium plastic underquenching and quenching state, good spot welding and gas welding, easy to produce crystal crack. After quenching and cold work hardening, the alloy has good machinability, but after annealing, the machinability is low: the corrosion resistance is not high, often using oxidation treatment and paint baking method or aluminum plating surface to improve its corrosion resistance.
